At communitychurch we love kids. We believe children should be involved in our meetings as well as having dedicated activities. Our Sunday mornings programme takes care of this. In addition to this we run a performance and arts group called Unite.
We believe in the discipleship of our children, which is why we have our own school as well as running transform.com, a discipleship programme for children. We also believe in providing a service to the community so we run a hugely successful parent and child group called Little Creations.
On top of all this there's Kidz Klub! This is a hugely popular roadshow run in a local school.

Sarah Iddon
Hi I'm Sarah and I oversee the Kids work here at communitychurch. Feel free to get in touch with me if you'd like any information on the work we do.
Our childrens work vision is: To love. To Teach. To Reach.
To Love:
We are committed to sharing and showing the love of Jesus with children. We want to see children’s lives changed as we give them opportunity to experience the power and presence of the love of Christ.
Within our Church we want to provide a safe and loving environment where each child has a sense of belonging within our Church family. We recognise the importance of our children and seek to encourage, value and build strong relations with them.
To Teach:
In Scripture we read of the importance of teaching and training the next generation (Ps 78, Prov 22:6, Dt 6). As a Church we want to support parents in their responsibility to train their children in the ways of the Lord and in doing so raise a generation that would put their confidence in Christ. We want to be a Church that is ready to teach and equip in an age-appropriate, fun and relevant way so that they may know God better.
It is in our heart to support and encourage our children to move on in God. We recognise the potential and high calling God has placed on each individual and hope to see this nurtured and released in gifting, service and lifestyle.
To Reach:
Our commission is to ‘Go and make disciples of all nations’ (Mt28:18) and within our children’s work we want to share the love of Jesus with the children of our city. We want to encourage our kids to be outward focused, to bring their friends in but also we want to be actively involved in reaching out to children in our community and provide opportunity for the gospel to be heard and seen amongst children.
communitychurch is part of a regional movement of churches called East Midlands Christian Fellowships (EMCF). EMCF has its very own primary school situated in the city of Derby.
You'll soon be able to find out more information about Emmanuel School once the new EMCF website is launched.
This is a 10 week discipleship course for children in years 4 to 7.
The aim of the course is to help the children move on in their relationship with God by giving them teaching and support to help them ‘transform into the likeness of Christ.’ It also includes a weekend away with teaching on the Holy Spirit - and these have proven to be electric!
"I knew it was going to be powerful, but not that powerful!"
For details about when the next course will run please contact us.
Unite is a performing arts group for anyone in schoolyears 5-9. Our vision for Unite is 'to see young people worshipping God through the creative arts whilst developing their gifts'.
Unite takes place every Thursday in Bridge House from 7pm-8:30pm. There are three areas which we are concentrating on currently:
Art, Drama & Dance
We also chill out, chat about different topics and have fun!
